This is bob rulz. My real name is Jason; I'm an 18-year old from the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. I'm very passionate on how I think society can and should change, especially the public education system. I also hate how apathetic some people can be. I never understood how people can't care about the things that go on around them. I am very optimistic and have a sense of humor about everything. However, I'm also a self-confessed critic and I try to maintain a realistic, neutral perspective on everything; I can see all sides of a viewpoint. People know me for my geography knowledge and interest in the weather. I won my school geography bee on all 5 years possible and advanced to state competition every time, although I never placed higher than 5th. I also have a lot of interest in statistics, urban development, space exploration, and history, especially modern history and ancient Greece and Rome. I feel uncomfortable if I'm unaware of what's going on in the world. I have arachnophobia and a severe fear of flying. I tried to fool myself into thinking I was Atheist once, but I am really just agnostic. I don't really care one way or the other, but I do have a lot of issues with organized religion.
I am very socially liberal, but am more economically moderate.
I spend a lot of my time tracking the weather, especially tropical cyclones, reading and editing Wikipedia (of course), seeing what's going on in my hometown (Salt Lake City), reading, watching television, and playing video games. I am a science fiction nerd. Perhaps what I spend most time doing, however, is listening to music. My favorite genres include hard rock, alternative rock (although the term is way overused), progressive rock, indie rock and indie pop, and electronica, especially trip-hop and EBM. However, I can enjoy a lot of different types of music. I enjoy occasional acting & writing, and am an avid bowler, as well. I play the viola and once knew the piano. People say I'm musically gifted but I just don't have the attention span to learn instruments.
I am an avid Denver Broncos (NFL) and Utah Jazz (NBA) fan, but I really despise the sports culture.

What I contribute
I have been avidly editing Wikipedia since I was 14 (!) years old. I am good with prose and in providing general descriptions of certain subjects, but I am still getting the hang of the referencing on this website. It was something that nearly drove me away on occasion but I just love this website too much. I am great at general copy-editing, cleanup, and grammar edits, but I have also been known to vigorously rewrite bad or stubby articles.
When I began I was a Star Wars geek and avidly contributed to the Star Wars-related articles, as well as anything relating to Utah, but I have lost a lot of my interest in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. I now focus on Utah-related articles and try my best to contribute to meteorology articles as well. I was a huge contributor to tropical cyclone articles during the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season and 2006 Atlantic hurricane season but the quality of WikiProject Tropical cyclones is so high that I don't have much to contribute anymore. I have also sporadically contributed to video game articles.
My focus will now be on improving the overall quality of Utah-related articles, which is something I will always work on. I will also continue to contribute to video game articles, although not as much, and hopefully expand my participation in meteorology and television-related articles. I will also upload more images eventually.
