Lake Maurepas is a brackish water lake in southeastern Louisiana. It connects with Lake Pontchartrain via the Pass Manchac, a narrow strip of water. The town of Manchac, Louisiana is along the eastern edge of the lake at Pass Manchac.

The lake is named for Jean-Frédéric Phélypeaux, comte de Maurepas, a French statesman.

Geography

A Landsat image of Lake Maurepas shows that Interstate 55 (I-55) runs north to south just east of the lake, and I-10 runs east to west, well south of the lake. To the east of the lake, Lake Pontchartrain connects with Lake Maurepas through the stream known as Pass Manchac. The Tickfaw River also flows into Lake Maurepas.
