Character Information

Jimmy Neutron sports a disproportionately large head which he needs to house his large brain and his I.Q. of 210 , which is higher than anybody on Earth. In many episodes, his classmates are angered because of his intelligence. Jimmy's intellect was assumed to not come from his father's side of the family but from his mother, shown in the episode See Jimmy Run and in a few others. But in the episode, Clash of the Cousins where there is a family reunion, he searches for somebody in his family other than himself with the "genius gene", which turns out to be the toddler Eddie, Jimmy's paternal cousin, who becomes one of Jimmy's enemies in two other episodes. Jimmy's intellect stems from his mother, and/or the rare the Neutron family genius gene.citation needed

His intelligence allows him to invent devices that accomplish even the impossible. His inventions rarely function as intended, and most often embroil his friends or the entire town in some crisis. In the moment of crisis, he will urge his brain on, saying, "Think, think, think!" whereupon viewers enter Jimmy's ear and go into his brain to observe its inner workings as well as to relive three scenes from the early parts of the episode. Jimmy will then shout, "Brain Blast!" and arrive at the solution for whatever crisis he's set up. In the third season, he seems to stop Brain Blasting and comes up with ideas right away.citation needed Although things seem to work out, not all Jimmy's science is actually correct. For example in one episode he goes into Carl to retrieve a mitochondria from a virus, but mitochondria is part of a cell, not of a virus. Sometimes Jimmy may put facts together in ways that make no sense.

Jimmy's wardrobe consists almost exclusively of red t-shirts that sport his trademark symbol of electrons circling a nucleus. He also wears blue jeans and white Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars.

Personality

Jimmy is shown to be quite irritable around most people, the exception being his friends. He can be friendly at times that he needs or wants to be, but can come off as a smart alec or nerd occasionally. Jimmy's religious beliefs are uncertain. While he celebrates Christmas and other holidays, his scientific interests may point to Agnosticism or Atheism. However, these subjects are rarely touched on the show due to its viewers. Jimmy is quite charming when he least tries to be, such as at the party he throws at his parents' absence in an early episode. Jimmy has a crush on Betty Quinlan and Cindy Vortex; Betty stops being his love interest later on in place of Cindy.

Relationships with other characters

Best friends

Carl Wheezer and Sheen Estavez accompany Jimmy on nearly all of his adventures. Carl is obsessed with llamas and secretly in love with Judy Neutron; Sheen is obsessed with a toy franchise named Ultra-lord. Normally, they play the foils to Jimmy's genius and sometimes solve the episode's crisis with some innocent or insane observation. Lots of times Jimmy's ("friends") Carl and Sheen also betray him. Such as the episode (Carl Wheezer Boy Genius). Carl betrayed Jimmy into getting his Swedish girlfriend. Other times, they merely cause the trouble. Sheen's name is thought to be a play on half-brothers Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez, both of whom appeared in movies directed by John Hughes.

Cindy Vortex

Cindy Vortex is Jimmy's long-time intellectual rival, equal, and secret love. The two enjoy a classic love-hate relationship which originated prior to the beginning of the movie and the series. Cindy was the smartest kid in Retroville until Jimmy arrived. Cindy resents Jimmy's usurpation of her number one spot. This resentment drives her to prove that she can be just as smart if not smarter than Jimmy. She releases this resentment by mercilessly teasing him and his friends, calling him names such as "Nerdtron", "Spewtron", and "King Cranium", making fun of him and his friends, pulling pranks on them, and pointing out Jimmy's many mistakes and shortcomings. Throughout the course of the series, viewers observe indications that the two do indeed have romantic feelings for each other. Inexplicably, these two harbor an affection for each other despite Cindy's intense competition with Jimmy and Jimmy's frustration with Cindy's conventional instincts and intellect. During seasons two and most notably season three, Cindy comes to terms with her feelings for Jimmy and picks on him and his friends less often. She makes several attempts to get his attention such as in the episode "King of Mars". Jimmy shows his strong attraction to Cindy, staring at her often with a dreamy look in his eyes, and tries to distance himself from her by being mean to her. By the end of the episode he confesses that he only pretends to ignore her, and that she distracts him, which is his way of saying that he cares about her. In the episode "Lady Sings the News", Jimmy kisses Cindy at the end of the episode. In the Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Odd Parents crossover episodes, Jimmy's love for Cindy is more public, partly due to Timmy competing for her attention.

Libby Folfax

Libby is Cindy Vortex's best girl friend in the show. She loves Hip Hop which is seen in a lot of episodes. She is the love interest of Sheen who always tries to get her attention. She may have the same feelings for him. In the episode "Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen" she refers to herself as his girlfriend, but only to inspire him to fight an enemy. She is also in a lot of the later episodes the ally of Jimmy, Sheen and Carl. She isn't as mean to Jimmy and the guys as Cindy is though both love to tease them every once in a while.

Enemies

Jimmy encounters some diabolical villains in his show. These include the Yolkians, a race of egg-chicken related aliens, Professor Finbarr Calamitous, an evil genius who can never finish anything, the rich young snob Eustace Strytch, his evil genius cousin Baby Eddie and Beautiful Gorgeous, a 60s secret agent style femme fatale, among others. He also has an evil clone which is stuck in another dimension. The majority of the show's villains exhibit a comical element or have bizarre personality traits. Another enemie of his is the frotrutions, they are a race of walking beanie babies in a scence.

Multi Dimmensional freinds-Jimmy Nuetron has, on occasion, travelled to different dimensions, such as Bikini Bottom, Amity park, Pupununu villige, and Dimmsdale, and has befriended all of the stars of those shows, meaning Spongebob Squarepants, Danny Fenton, Tak, Timmy Turner, and many others. However, he shares the closeset bond with Timmy Turner. Since meeting each other in Jimmy and Timmy power hour, he and Timmy have always had a turbulent relasionship, probally due to the fact their extremely simmilar to each other ( Both having two closest friends, being social outcasts, being quick to be angered, naive, very smug, confident, headstrong, ignorant of certain things, charming, rude, and a love for Cindy Vortex and an unnobtainable yet buetiful love iterest, Betty Queinlynn and Trixie Tang, respectively). This has led the two to clash on simple things that normal people would resolve easily, such as how to beat a villian. In the second power hour, Jimmy and Timmy would compete with each for their own personal gain (to which Timmy would always win because even though he isn't smarter than Jimmy, he's WAY more witty than Jimmy) and in the third power hour, the two finnaly called a truce and became fast freinds, although they still to this day argue on thngs. In terms of how Cindy veiws the two, she likes Jimmy because he is so smart and shy (which she seems to like in a boy) but likes Timmy because he's charming and unafraid to admit his feelings for her ( which makes her feel special), something even the smug Jimmy isn't even confident enough to admit. These things always drive Cindy to be unable to make up her mind, and Jimmy and Timmy to always fight each other, which at one point was accually physical, fists and all (Jimmy Timmy power hour 2). Despite this the two are true friends and always work things out. Also, on a side note, Timmy is friendly with Sheen, Carl, and Libby (although Sheen and Carl tend cramp his stlye, such as intruding on Timmy's many dates with Cindy, and Libby scares Timmy a little with her tough attitude) and Jimmy has been shown to cooperate well with Chester and AJ(although AJ's smartness and Chester's stupidity irk him at times) and Jimmy's friends are very friendly with Timmy's friends, shown to go out to numerous places and hang out togther.
